Maintenance of Scholarship

Kabataang Pilipino Scholarships demand a strong academic performance from its grantees in order to maintain the grants accorded to them. As such, the following academic and performance standards shall be maintained by the grantees (applicable to all types of scholarship granted):

  • In every grading or semestral period, NO failing final grades in ALL credited subjects (i.e., minor and major) taken by the student that is/are covered by the scholarship grant;

  • Maintenance of the following general weighted average per school year or semester:
    • Elementary students: At least 85% or equivalent
    • For high school students: At least 85% or equivalent
    • For college or vocational students: At least 2.50 or equivalent
        Note: Effective SY2018-2019, the new maintaining grade for college or vocational  
        students is 2.25.
  • For every grading or semestral period, grantees shall be responsible in furnishing their respective KP Scholarship Coordinators with certified true copies of their grades issued by their school registrars or advisers/principals.

  • In the absence of the above, grantees shall provide photocopies of the grade reports together with the original copies of the same and shall be certified correct by their KP Scholarship Coordinators.

  • Failure to submit the grades within the specified period shall cause the withholding of the release of funds for the succeeding academic term until such time the grades are submitted and evaluated by KPI for continuance of the grant. In worst case, failure to submit the grades shall be a ground for the termination of the grant.

  • In the event that a student fails a subject(s) or does not meet the required averages, s/he shall be placed on a PROBATION STATUS for the succeeding grading or semestral period and his/her performance to be strictly observed and evaluated to satisfy the foregoing academic and performance standards. Depending on the said performance evaluation, the grantee may be put on a REGULAR STATUS again or the scholarship grant be completely terminated.

  • A grantee is only allowed to be in the probation period ONCE within one school year. Further, a grantee is only allowed to be put in the probation period up to a maximum of three times during the entire life of his/her scholarship grant. Failure to observe the foregoing shall mean the termination of the grant.

  • Participation or attendance to KPI's other programs, meetings, seminars, gatherings, civic works, educational tours and the like in order to broaden the grantee's Kabataang Pilipino experience.
